Celebrating the Winners of Our "Show Your Shine" Art Contest!
At Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC), we believe that every young artist has a unique light to share with the world. This summer, we invited students from grades K-12 to participate in our "Show Your Shine" Art Contest, a special event designed to encourage originality, self-expression, and creative reflection.
We received a total of 48 submissions and each participant submitted artwork that represents them as an artist or captures what inspires them to create. Our goal was to create a platform that not only fosters creativity but also emboldens our young artists to explore and reflect on their artistic journeys.
The submissions we received were full of imagination, talent, and heart. Our participants brought their visions to life through a variety of mediums and techniques, showcasing the diversity and depth of their artistic abilities. We were truly inspired by the passion and creativity displayed by every young artist who entered the contest.
Our judges had the difficult task of selecting the winners, basing their decisions on originality, interpretation of subject matter/theme, creative techniques, composition, and overall appearance. After much deliberation, we are thrilled to announce the top three winners of the "Show Your Shine" Art Contest:
🥇 1st PLACE: Samura Hurts - Black Disco Girl
Samura's striking image of a black disco girl captivated us with its vibrant colors and bold representation of individuality and style. Her artwork embodies a sense of joy and empowerment, truly shining a light on her artistic voice.
🥈 2nd PLACE: Acacia Bohl - Sushi Girl
Acacia's creative depiction of a sushi girl showcased her playful imagination and intricate attention to detail. The originality of her concept and the skillful execution made her piece stand out as a celebration of culture and creativity.
🥉 3rd PLACE: Tylar McFadden - Color Eye
Tylar's colorful and mesmerizing eye image drew us in with its intense focus and stunning composition. The blend of colors and the emotional depth conveyed through her work made it a powerful expression of her artistic perspective.
