Transforming a parking lot into a vibrant, eco-friendly community hub, PARK(ing) Day at Calvin M. Rodwell was a spectacular success! LTYC students, teachers, and community partners came together to showcase the power of arts education in promoting environmental sustainability, creating interactive hubs, colorful murals, and inspiring art installations. It was a day that celebrated creativity, community, and the importance of public spaces!

As summer draws to a close, the LTYC team celebrated a season of creativity and community with a fun-filled trip to Kings Dominion! After a summer of inspiring our students through dance, music, and visual arts, we capped off the season with laughter and team-building, excited for the school year ahead and the continued journey of youth empowerment through the arts.

This summer, students from Harlem Park Elementary/Middle and North Bend Elementary experienced the thrill of a lifetime at the Baltimore Ravens training camp! From autographs with NFL superstars to hands-on field activities at The Under Armour Performance Center, our scholars enjoyed a VIP experience that sparked their passion for sports, teamwork, and creativity. It was an unforgettable day of inspiration and fun, and one that will stay with them for years to come!

At LTYC, we believe in empowering youth through unforgettable experiences that inspire dreams. Recently, our scholars got a VIP glimpse into the world of WWE Monday Night RAW, where they not only witnessed thrilling action but felt the power of possibility in their own lives. Join us as our LTYC students step into the kitchen at The Empanada Lady, where they learned to cook traditional Puerto Rican empanadas and explore the rich Afro-Latina culture behind the flavors. This hands-on culinary experience not only sparked their creativity but also offered a deeper connection to food and culture, leaving them with unforgettable memories and a newfound appreciation for the culinary arts.

In the wake of tragedy, LTYC is transforming pain into purpose with a powerful mural project at Baybrook Elementary/Middle School in Brooklyn Park. Awarded the Gutierrez Memorial Fund, this initiative will not only beautify the community but also provide an outlet for healing, resilience, and unity through art. LTYC is proud to celebrate the incredible achievement of one of our talented students, who recently won Mayor Brandon Scott's Visual Arts Contest.
